Abi Polus

Abi graduated from the University of Hertfordshire, UK in 2001 and has completed her Post-graduate Masters study in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. She worked for 4 years in the UK National Health System; gaining a wealth of experience in different specialities in central London at University College London Hospital, where she refined her skills in women’s health and shoulders and then worked in the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, working closely with internationally recognised leading surgeons and doctors, participating in research and development of the rehabilitation and physiotherapy management of pioneering surgical techniques and working independently as part of the physiotherapy team.

She has travelled extensively overseas and volunteered as a physiotherapist in Cambodia in paediatrics. In Australia Abi has been working in the public and sports sectors; she has worked in St Vincent’s Hospital, Caulfield Medical Centre and Frankston Hospital managing inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic services and maintaining her own caseload, and has extensive experience in post-operative spinal and joint surgery and spinal physiotherapy management. She has worked with various athletes and sporting teams, including work with VFL team Port Melbourne, netball and basketball injuries, and has rehabilitated state and national martial arts and wrestlers back to competition level.

When she is not working Abi enjoys playing soccer, basketball, Latin dancing and has an interest in literature and theatre.
