For the 3rd sucessive year charity Tour de Cure has conducted their annual ride, raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Camp Quality, the Leukaemia Foundation and the Cancer Council. And for the 3rd sucessive year Recover dietitian Alan McCubbin was along for the ride, supporting the team and ensuring they remain fuelled and hydrated. This year Tour de Cure has raised in excess of $800,000. It bolstered its line up to from 25 to 46 riders, and with this came a much greater challenge keeping the team of riders going. Alan, or Captain Carbo as he became known, was involved in menu planning, ensuring rider stayed hydrated, as well as providing the riders with educational sessions on the importance of nutrition and hydration. Recover Sports Medicine is proud to partner Tour de Cure in their efforts to raise $2 million in four years.
Tour de Cure riders will be back in 2009.

Recover Sports Medicine sailor Sarah Blanck has finished 4th in the Olympic Games women's single-handed sailing event. After a slow start Sarah fought her way back into medal contention in the second half of the regatta, but more consistent performances by her rivals kept her out of the medal positions. First place goes to the USA, second to Lithuania and third to host nation China. It has been a great 10 months working with Sarah - during that time she has been consulted and treated by dietitian Alan McCubbin, physio Ben Erlich and massage therapist Alana Shaw at Recover's Bayside clinic.
